i watch this computer security show almost weekly, pretty good

update: heres episode 451

or not, just to sum up these cool mixes about workout

Encoding to VP9 in 4K is awesomely slow, when i mean slow, it is SLOW > 0.2fps but still it has not been optimized or have multicore support yet, it only used 1 core of my 8 core cpu (FX-8350) with 32GB RAM!

`ffmpeg -f image2 -i "E:\redout\tif\A005_C026_01224Q\00%05d.tif" -vcodec libvpx-vp9 -strict experimental -acodec libopus -qmin 0 -qmax 40 -crf 27 -b:v 20M -b:a 64k outputgirl.webm`

change crf to higher (smaller files, worse quality) or lower crf (bigger files, better quality)

the end results are this 4k file, source is tiff from a RED camera, pretty good i say as its only ~6Mbps video bitrate

and in other news

sparklabs has a way better windows openvpn client, check it out at their site

but getting video onto the display is another thing
i need to figure that out, anyhow in the meanwhile i did update edwardoid's exellent arch installer for cubieboard2 edward's guide is here

and a stumble upon some guide on howto install bootloaders and such for other distros than arch over here

found these nice songs and in other news, cubieboard2 is fun

i had a issue with uefi and grub2 today, found out a realy simple solution

  • boot into a live cd (uefi mode)
  • mount /dev/sda1 /boot
  • grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/ --bootloader-id=grub --recheck --debug
  • grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

found some of the info @ slackware docs

i realy like Foobar2000 but it is not available on linux, but fear not there is a pretty clone of it on linux named DeaDBeeF :)

this annoys me alot, ooh well here are some method of rebooting windows 8.x

  1. Press windows key and then type in shutdown
  2. ctrl + alt + del and click on shutdown icon
  3. create a shortcut and put shutdown in it

change shutdown with shutdown -R if you want to reboot
